Nermein Lotfy, MD Pediatrics
Dr Lotfy is board certified in Pediatrics and Adolescent medicine. She has been practicing for more than 15 years.
Graduated from Michigan state University,
Became the cheif resident in 1998 and worked as an associate clinical professor at the university for 1 year.
Moved with her husband Dr. Haggag to Tennesse where they practiced for years and then to Madison, AL, where they found their home .

She has special interest in
sports injuries as she was involved in her kids sports and has years of experience with variuos medical illnesses as ADHD, asthma, Allergies & Diabetes .
​
Dr. Lotfy enjoys playing tennis, table tennis, swimming and spending time with her two children in her free time. .

Amy Johnson, CRNP Pediatrics
Amy is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner, recently joining the practice to care for our pediatric and adolescent patients. Her career and interest in caring for pediatric patients began in 2013 when she graduated from Saint Louis University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and began working at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital on their hematology/oncology unit and later went on to gain important critical care skills and proficiency in pediatrics while working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
In 2017, Amy moved down to Huntsville with her husband and has since established herself as a CRNP under Dr. Lotfy's guidance and expertise. She considers herself immensely blessed to have this opportunity to continue caring for the pediatric population and is so excited to continue her journey with Valley Internal Medicine & Pediatrics.
Amy is happiest when with her husband Tyler and raising their two young kids in Huntsville, Alabama. She also enjoys swimming, hiking, and traveling to new places in her spare time.

Akram Haggag, MD
Dr. Haggag is a board
certified internist
who cares for patients
14 years of age and older. He graduated from Michigan State university where he finished his residency .
Was elected as chief resident in 1999 and worked as associate clinical professor for 1 year at the university. He then moved and worked in Tennesse and Decatur until he relocated his practice to Madison , Al.

Currently works as the director of inpatient hospitalists at Crestwood hospital and cares for his patients at his private clinic with the help of his nurse practitioners.

Dr. Haggag enjoys playing Tennis, Fishing and spending time with his wife and two children in his free time.

Jared Connor, CRNP
Jared is a board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, whose primary focus is managing acute and chronic medical conditions. Can evaluate and treat patients of 13 years age and older. Ever since taking the first aid merit badge in the Boy Scouts of America, Jared knew he wanted to be in the medical field. Fast forward to 2006, Jared earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Univeristy of Alabama Huntsville, and began working as a registered nurse at Crestwood Medical Center. Jared had a wide range of inpatient RN experience during his tenure at Crestwood, primarily in the Medical and Surgical ICUs. In 2014, Jared finished his gradute studies for Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at UAH and began working as a CRNP for Alabama Hospital Medicine, the hospitalist group of Crestwood, under the leadership of Dr. Haggag. I have a passion for trying to help people, and it makes me so happy if I can help make a lasting difference or improvement in your life. I look forward to becoming your partner and consultant in your health care.

Jared enjoys running marathons, being outdoors and spending time with his wife and two children in his free time.

Mandy Starnes, CRNP
We are thrilled to welcome Mandy Starnes, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, to our practice. She will be providing care for both adult and pediatric patients. With 23 years of nursing experience, Mandy is passionate about empowering patients on their health journeys.
Mandy holds a Master’s degree in nursing with a focus on Nurse Education, along with a Post-Master’s Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner. Throughout her career, she has worked extensively with chronically ill patients, which has ignited her passion for disease prevention and health promotion.
Her diverse background includes experience in high-pressure environments such as Surgical, Burn, Trauma, Medical, Cardiac, and Neuro ICUs, as well as Post-Anesthesia Care Units. This experience has helped her develop exceptional clinical judgment and patient care skills. In addition to her clinical expertise, Mandy has contributed to the nursing community by serving as an instructor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where she taught undergraduate students during their critical care nursing course. Her commitment to continuous education and improving patient outcomes reflects her dedication to providing high-quality, compassionate care.
Outside of her professional life, Mandy enjoys spending quality time with her husband, two children, and she stays active at the gym.
